All Systems GO for Master Electricians Racing at SuperGP

The 2009 Genuine Ford Parts Australian Formula Ford Championship will come to a close this weekend on the streets of the Gold Coast, but for Andre Borell it symbolically signals the start of his 2010 campaign.

Andre has earlier confirmed a change of chassis for 2010, but remains tight lipped on the details. What Andre was able to reveal was that his Van Diemen will this weekend feature a striking new colour scheme, which will carry over onto the new car for next year. The new colour scheme will be seen track for the first time for Thursday’s first practice session.

Andre has his hopes set high for a strong results on the streets of Surfers, aiming to score his strongest finish of the year.

“I am really going to be gunning to crack the Top 5 for the first time the season. It will be tough, but I think it is achievable if the cards fall our way a bit. We know there is going to be carnage – just look at the stupidity we saw the the F1 Grand Prix at the start of the season. Keeping the thing out of the walls will go a long way towards a good result” explained the 22 year old.

Further boosting the Ipswich residents confidence is a strong test day and preparation for this round. Master Electricians racing skipped the Phillip Island race in September in order to focus on preparing the car for the demands of the street circuit. Andre explained the teams lead up to the event:

“I feel we are the most prepared we have been all year. We have slowly improved the car all year, and now we have given it a bit of a birthday too so it should be as good as it will get at SuperGP. Its got to be the country’s most intensively developed RF06 that’s for certain – there aint much Van Diemen left in this thing!”

Formula Ford will feature on all 4 days of the SuperGP Event, which combined with a busy PR schedule means Andre and the Master Electricians team will be putting in long hours over the weekend. Below is a list of on-track action for Formula Ford at SuperGP.
