Andre Borell has completed his first test with Evans Motorsport for 2010, the team that will be responsible for running his simPRO Master Electricians Racing Mygale SJ10a this season. The test was held using an older model (2009) Mygale – with the goal being for Andre to acclimatise to the new brand of chassis, and for the team to begin to understand Andre’s driving style.

The season opening race of the Genuine Ford Parts Australian Formula Ford Championship, held at the Mebourne Formula 1 Grand Prix, may still be over two months away – but for Andre Borell and simPRO Master Electricians Racing, the preparations are well and truly underway.
With Evans Motorsport running his #87 entry for season 2010, and a brand new Mygale just off the boat from France, Andre has taken the ‘off season’ as an opportunity to work on his fitness.

Andre Borell has finished in a dissapointing 5th place at Round 3 of the Queensland Tri Series at the weekend. Competing in the official Sprint distance event, the race consisted of 750m swim, 20km cycle leg, and a 5km run. Having recently competed in the Olympic distance Noosa Tri, the distance would not be an issue, but the higher pace would prove to catch Andre out.
The race started well, with Andre surviving his weakest leg - the swim - having only lost around 1 minuite to the leader. Borell then lived up to his nickname “Lance” by dominating the cycle leg. The quickest on the course by some margin, Andre came into the run in third place.

Evans Motorsport Group is delighted to announce the signing of former Queensland Karter of the Year, Andre Borell for its assault on the 2010 Australian Formula Ford Championship.
Andre will be partnered with two yet-to-be-announced teammates; who will be campaigning Mygale’s brand new weapon – the SJ10a. The car will be an evolution of the chassis that has dominated Formula Ford racing around the globe, and the young Queenslander just can’t wait to get his hands on one.

Andre Borell Motorsport has today launched an all new website, which will be used to keep fans and sponsors up to date with the 22 year old’s racing in 2010. Developed by new media partner Mediaglue who are based in Archerfield, the website showcases many exciting features including a ‘twitter feed’, YouTube channel and an interactive gallery.

The 2009 Genuine Ford Parts Australian Formula Ford Championship will come to a close this weekend on the streets of the Gold Coast, but for Andre Borell it symbolically signals the start of his 2010 campaign.
Andre has earlier confirmed a change of chassis for 2010, but remains tight lipped on the details. What Andre was able to reveal was that his Van Diemen will this weekend feature a striking new colour scheme, which will carry over onto the new car for next year. The new colour scheme will be seen track for the first time for Thursday’s first practice session.
